Golf Sunglasses

"Golf is a game of confidence," says a prominent golf personality, Bob Dr. Rotella. But what makes confidence, really? The brunt of confidence is in feeling good about yourself, and the brunt of that is in looking good and knowing it! When playing golf, you have to be aware of what makes you feel good and puts you "in the zone," so to speak. This is precisely why you must invest in good golf wear, such as a good vest, comfortable sports pants, and protective golf sunglasses.

You might find it strange that people who play golf will need sunglasses. In fact, it's not strange at all! Golf players and their enthusiasts have to stay in the sun for an extended period of time... and because of this, golf sunglasses are an indispensable part of their ensemble. Or else, it should be.

Like a lot of other athletes, golf players rely greatly on their sense of sight and depth perception in order to win. But overexposure to the sun may compromise those very vital things. The sun's rays could be hugely damaging to anyone's eyes, but athletes who need to be exposed to them regularly are at a special risk. Because of this, protective eyewear is a must for people participating regularly in outdoor sports. Even a non-contact sport like golf calls for a great deal of physical fitness.

The first thing you need to consider when choosing sunglasses for golf is the quality of your lenses. Do they allow sufficient wind and dust protection? Are they sturdy enough for all climates and weather conditions? Special lenses may well be the most expensive parts of eyewear, but if you're after optimum functionality, try to not even consider cheap sunglasses that don't adjust to the different kinds of weather and light conditions you may experience in-game.

Another must is anti-fog lenses - you don't want your breathing, poor weather, or an increased body temperature to get in the way of a good game, do you? All of this - plus the 90%+ UV protection that's an absolute must for all outdoor athletes - may indeed cost a pretty penny, but if you choose the right pair of sunglasses, they could last you a lifetime, and make you look cool no matter what you wear, or what event you attend, on or off the green.

Frames should also be in your priority list, of course. Frames that wrap around your face, leaving no room for wind, dust or debris to get into your eyes, are excellent for most types of sports gear, and you may wish to consider them for golf sunglasses, as well.

The Buzz on WYNN LAS VEGAS by Joan Ewart

Wynn Las Vegas, the new mega resort. Steve Wynn originally named the resort Le Reve after the renowned painting by Picasso that he owns; he then decided it was not nearly as exciting as the name Wynn Las Vegas. Think of the implications - you can win Las Vegas at WYNN!

WYNN on the site of the old Desert Inn will stir excitement in the hearts of any who have stayed at the Desert Inn in the past. There will be ghosts, as well as memories, I'm sure. Steve Wynn is such a magician when it comes to bringing the best to Las Vegas, and he's certainly on the site of where the best once was! The Desert Inn built in 1950 was the first hotel or resort to use water features in the desert. They had the original Dancing Waters Show and a fountain at their entrance. The Tournament of Champions (first Las Vegas golf tournament) was broadcast by NBC. The first tall structure, an observation tower, The Skyroom was built to overlook the new Strip's best views. You could see Sunrise Mountain and the twinkling lights that were beginning to show on the desert floor, but Wilbur Clark with all his imagination could not envision this bronzed glass spectacle that is Wynn Las Vegas.

Everyone is anxiously waiting to stay and enjoy this new thrill. Several years in the making, all have watched the cranes and the earth being moved around, and now the phoenix has arisen from the ashes of the old Desert Inn. The water-themed .85 billion megaresort has 42-story hotel tower, a three-acre man-made lake, Wynn's private art collection in an on-site museum, golf course and several private gambling areas.

Wynn megaresort has 2,701 rooms, an average resort room is 640 square feet, with special bedding, a sitting area with couch and ottoman, floor to ceiling windows with views of Las Vegas skyline and electronic controls to control the window treatments to shut-out or bring-in those views. The price tag for middle of the week is around 9.00, not exorbitant for the luxury you will enjoy. There is also a selection of suites, including a Tower Suite, Salon, Parlor or Executive Suite. All with the appropriate amenities...and even though the accommodations are out of this world, you'll be spending more time doing other things.

If you want to shop till you drop, you can break the bank in the shops just as easily as at the casino. Just one item from each shop could do it. A bracelet from Cartier, shoes from Manolo Blahnik, a cute little purse from Judith Lieber. Don't forget Gizmos, where you can buy toys for big boys! Pick up some Estee Lauder sunscreen, a silk shirt at Brioni for the man in your life, a watch at Wynn & Co., a fancy pen to sign your checks or new sunglasses at W. Ink. A classy jacket from Chanel, some designer fragrance from John Paul Gaultier, an exciting outfit from Oscar de la Renta for lounging around the pool and you're all set to stay at Wynn Las Vegas for another couple of days...oh oh, we forgot to mention you can pick up a gull-wing Ferrari at Penske-Wynn showroom to drive home.

You can take a day to relax in the sumptuous spa. Get a facial, or a Fresh Brown Sugar Body Treatment for your sugar fix of the day! Try a Good Luck Ritual massage, a fung shui experience based on health, wealth, prosperity, happiness and harmony, guaranteeing you all the best at the gaming tables and during your stay in Las Vegas. You might need a special foot treatment after all the shopping; avoid the agony of defeet at the spa.

If you plan to play golf, be prepared to experience one of the greatest golf courses in the world, see elevation changes unlike anywhere else in Vegas. Designed by Tom Fazio along with Steve Wynn, you find 18 holes to take your breath away. Eleven water holes, with a waterfall on 18, 2 marshland areas that use underground water, Pennlinks Bentgrass greens and the best part of all, many old trees, some over 50 years old, that were salvaged from the old Desert Inn golf course and replanted to once more keep watch over play on the course...and all of this right outside your hotel room! If you want to play this 7,042-yard, par 70 course, you must be a guest at Wynn Las Vegas.

After doing all this shopping and putting or gambling that is really what Vegas is all about, you'll be ready for dinner and a show. Remember the name Le Reve, it now is the name of a water show extravaganza, directed by Franco Dragone, a show like no other, which truly reflects on it's name The Dream, theater in the round, so no seat is more than 40 feet away from the action. You merge with the actors in this one.

Elegant dining with an assortment of restaurants to keep you busy for a week at least. Try Red 8 for Hong Kong dim sum and barbecue. The SW Steakhouse fetaures good old American steak enhanced with the flavors of Alsace. Okada, where you will enjoy authentic robata cooking and shushi prepared by Chef Takashi Yagahaski, voted Best New Chef by Food & Wine. Alex with flavors of the Riviera, this one gets 2 Mobil 5 Star awards and the AAA 5 Diamond designation. Corsa Cucina is a delightful cafe and offers an excellent selection of wood-fired pizzas. Tableau offers fine American cuisine and is open for dinner to all guests, however, breakfast and lunch for Tower Suite guests only. Another winner is Daniel Boulurd Brasserie, James Beard award, Four AAA 5 Diamond awards, and three Mobil 5 Star awards. Bartolotta Ristorante de Mare, fresh fish flown in daily plus excellent pasta dishes and enjoy Jimmy Sneed's over at the Country Club.

The casino offers every table game including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and all your favorite poker games, including Let-It-Ride, over 1900 slots and the most exciting, a chance to win megabucks jackpot at a penny slot. This is Steve Wynn's brainchild a ,000,000.00 penny slot machine. Watch out for the stampede to Wynn Las Vegas.
